ILLUSIONS ™
– Patterns For Real People
™
" I am so excited about the design
possibilities that Illusions has for the great fitting clothes that I already get with Dress Shop. Vents, Godets, Pleats, and so much more with the side panel designs.. I AM SO EXCITED about this. I can't stop cutting out more fabric and outfits..
." - Bobbi Jo Nichols
"In comparison to some computer clip art programs or card
programs I have bought, or even upgrading my Word program,
Livingsoft is giving Illusions away. You might think that you
will only use one or two patterns, but I think that this program
will cross over into all sorts of areas of style and pattern
usefulness.
I chose the Rosalind, because it had an armhole princess which I
like. Like all DS patterns, it too, sewed together like butter on
warm bread. The godet's made the skirt flowing, and I LOVE how
I can design them to start at just about any body point.
Ladies, check out the absolutely genius godet configuration under
Options. " - Jaylene Elmslie
"Want to look svelte, classy, and comfy all at the
same time? Just take a look at what Illusions can do !!
I had the privilege to be a tester for Illusions and found it to be one
of the most exciting programs I have ever tried. While the focus
of the designs is to give the larger figure elegant creations I found
that almost all of the silhouettes are indeed flattering, comfortable
and wearable on smaller figures as well. ... This is
professional design at its best - classic comfy jackets, swingy flowing
skirts and dresses, elegant column dresses, pleats and godets galore,
casual clothes for stretch fabrics, multi functional layers to mix &
match and more. Illusions deserves a great round of applause."
- Bonnie Triola
"Even though I don't have the standard shape that Illusions was
designed for, I was pleased with the 3 items I made. I love the
design lines of fitted clothes, but my lifestyle doesn't. With
Illusions, the extra ease has been added in.
My new purple print crepe dress made from The Audrey,
has a scoop neck slightly raised, short sleeves, button up the front of
the midi length with godets inserted into the seams. Such
wonderful swirls at the bottom. It will be great for church when
I'm working with the Kids class or the nursery. Plenty of movement
allowed, so I can get on the floor with the
rugrats and still look smart for services.
WOW! what a clear description on how make the godets work. All
these little tips to make our work so professional. Thanks Kaaren and programmers for a beautiful program from conception to
reality." - Bobbie Connelly, Johnson City TN
"The first
pattern I made was the mock wrap skirt - what a great skirt - saved a
lot of time not having to hand draft a mock wrap - and it went together
like a dream!
I'm looking forward to making some more of the "Casual Fit"
patterns as they are somewhere between Fitted and Unfitted.
With the addition of the Casual Panel Jacket, I can now replace a
commercial pattern that I'd altered long ago with a properly fitting DS
pattern - and I can have lots of variations. Enjoy Illusions!" -
Janet Dean, Melbourne Australia
"I have just looked at and read the instructions. Marvelous. I usually rely on Sandra Betzina's Power Sewing Step by Step, but these instructions are so much better. Thanks for the step by step pictures Kaaren."
- Wanda Eikman
"I find my
blouse with godet very comfortable and with a few minor changes it will probably replace the shell as my casual basic. I can fuss with the shell or fitted blouse and come close to duplication, but this one is READY TO GO! No Guesswork! It is MUCH more comfortable for me, since the armhole is slightly lower, the sleeve cap flatter, and bicep wider than the shell and I probably would not have made the changes being afraid of wrinkles or drag lines."
- Nancy Nason
"I am especially excited about the addition of bodice pleats. I made the nightie with pleats which was easy to assemble and which turned out lovely. I feel certain that bodice pleats will be expanded in future updates to enable the possibility of making them across the entire front, and that prospect is even more exciting as I love pleated bodices.
Illusions is a wonderfully innovative program opening the door to many more opportunities to incorporate godets and pleats into our designs."
